Butterfly valve installation environment and maintenance precautions

Installation environment

Installation environment: butterfly valves can be used indoors or in the open air, but in corrosive media and rust-prone occasions, use the appropriate combination of materials. Special conditions of use can be consulted in the valve.

Installation place: installed in the safe operation, and easy maintenance, inspection and repair of the place.

Surrounding environment: temperature -20℃~+70℃, humidity below 90%RH. Before installation should first according to the valve on the nameplate sign, check whether the valve meets the requirements of the working conditions. Note: Butterfly valves do not have the ability to resist high pressure differentials, do not allow the butterfly valve to open or continuous flow under high pressure differentials.

Before valve installation

Before installation, please remove the dirt and oxidized scale and other debris in the pipeline. When installing the valve, please note that the flow direction of the medium should be consistent with the flow direction arrow indicated on the valve body.

Align the piping center before and after, make the flange interface parallel, and lock the screws evenly, and pay attention to the pneumatic butterfly valve not to have excessive piping stress on the cylinder control valve.

Maintenance Precautions

Daily inspection: Check for leakage, abnormal noise and vibration.

Regular inspection: Valves and other system components should be checked regularly for leakage, corrosion and jamming, etc., and their maintenance, cleaning and dust removal, and removal of residual stains.

Decomposition check: the valve should be regularly disassembled for overhaul, decomposition and overhaul to re-flush the parts, remove foreign objects, stains and rust spots, replacement of damaged or badly worn gaskets and fillers, correction of sealing surfaces, the valve needs to be re-overhauled after the hydrostatic test, after passing before re-use.
