How to connect the wafer butterfly valve to the pipe for installation?
- If the two flanges are not sufficiently spaced apart, it may cause damage or rolling of the gasket.
- A flange inner diameter that is too large will increase leakage and reduce sealing efficiency, whereas a diameter that is too small will hinder the free opening and closing of the disc.
- Tightening the bolts while the disc is fully closed can lead to excessive compression of the gasket, resulting in increased actuation torque and potential damage to the seat!
Correct Connection Installation Method
- Separate the two flanges to a maximum distance to facilitate the insertion of the complete valve body (with the disc slightly open). A recommended approach is to first secure one bolt at the base, then rotate the entire butterfly valve upwards to insert it between the two flanges.
- There is no need to use sealing gaskets or grease.
- With the disc at a slightly open angle (not fully closed), attach all bolts without tightening them initially; ensure the butterfly valve is aligned with the pipeline and fully open before proceeding to tighten the bolts in a diagonal sequence.
